The 3.0 V6 TDi engine utilises a Garrett VNT turbo, intercooler and Common Rail injection system with Bosch EDC17 ECU controller. Running pressures up to 1800 bar standard the engine provides very solid linear performance and an exceptionally quiet combustion. Once remapped the power increase is all through the rev range with a huge boost to mid range torque and all round drivability. We regularly see good fuel economy gains on these engines and further noise reduction from the engine. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fueling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.

Every time I drive my Porsche 996 Carrera 4, it puts a smile on my face. I purposely chose the narrow bodied C4, so that I could keep it garaged. In doing so, I traded off BHP against the wider bodied C4S.

Having done much research, it seemed that there was limited potential to enhance the performance of the normally aspirated non-turbo 3.6L flat 6. Then, upon recommendation I was introduced to Celtic Tuning. Two weeks later and after a ‘Celtic re-map’, I was given back a new car.

What a difference, not only to overall power, but the re-map moved the ‘sweet-spot’ so that it picks up at much lower revs, around 2000 rpm. The biggest difference is the torque in 3rd gear - incredible. This re-map has made the world off difference.
