The 1.4 TSi is the base engine in the 1.4 range, it only operates a liquid cooled intercooler which restricts peak power due to rising exhaust gas temperatures. The power at 142bhp is extremely reliable and ensures perfect engine operation. The 120bhp variant is only turbo charged unlike the TFSi variants which are both turbo and supercharged with front mounted intercoolers for increased performance. The torque increase up to 195lbft provides for some great in gear performance. We develop all of our software on the rolling road to ensure accuracy in terms of both power delivery and also to ensure fueling, boost pressures and exhaust gas temperatures are all within tolerance. Our aim is for maximum power whilst maintaining optimum reliability.
